While social VR experiences like RecRoom and Horizon Worlds are shutting down, game studios are closing their doors, and Meta is cutting thousands of jobs, there is one industry that remains steadfast in its commitment to XR during these turbulent times: the pharmaceutical and medical industry. After all, in hardly any other industry is it as evident just how useful XR can be.
DocCheck experimented early on with the first augmented reality experiences and gradually built up an XR department, which was officially launched in 2022.
Alexander Kals, who has been with DocCheck for 12 years, not only initiated the first AR experiments but also leads the team today.
